01/03/2023 NFL UPDATES
My predictions for last week’s games: (10-5) and forgot to pick for the Bills/Bengals game. This is very Ironic because this game was suspended because there was a very sad event that happened during the game and it was postponed. Bills Safety Damar Hamlin was hit really hard in the chest causing him to go into cardiac arrest. I have never seen anything like this and I was watching it live on TV. They were giving him CPR on the field while he was down for about 10 minutes. They finally got him off the field and to the hospital where his vitals are back to normal but he is still very much in critical condition. The entire NFL community and more have him and his family in our prayers.
Last weeks big games that I brought up did NOT disappoint. The 49ers vs Raiders game was a nail bitter and closer than I anticipated but the 49ers came out on top. So now the Raiders have been fully eliminated from the Playoffs but the 49ers now have a chance to get the #1 seed if they win this week and the Eagles lose. The Packers and Vikings was very one sided, the Packers ran all over the Vikings and came out victorious so they now have a chance to get into the playoffs.
Right now for the AFC the teams that are in the hunt and have a chance of playoffs if they win are the (Dolphins, Steelers & Titans)
For the NFC on the other hand there are only 2 teams in the hunt the (Lions & Packers).
These teams have been eliminated now
Texans
Bears
Cardinals
Broncos
Colts
LA Rams
Falcons
Raiders
Panthers
Browns
Saints
Jets
Commanders
My Predictions this week:
(Chiefs vs Raiders) Chiefs
(Titans vs Jaguars) Jaguars
(Ravens vs Bengals) Bengals
(Browns vs Steelers) Browns
(Vikings vs Bears) Vikings
(Patriots vs Bills) Bills
(Jets vs Dolphins) Dolphins
(Buccaneers vs Falcons) Buccaneers

(Texans vs Colts) Texans
(Cardinals vs 49ers) 49ers
(Cowboys vs Commanders) Cowboys

Falcons vs Buccaneers prediction, odds, spread, start time: 2024 NFL picks, Week 8 best bets from proven model
The Atlanta Falcons look to sweep their NFC South Division rivals this season as they visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons (4-3) lost at home to the Seahawks in Week 7, 34-14, while the Buccaneers (4-3) lost to the Ravens at home on Monday night, 41-31. The teams most recently met in Week 5, a thrilling come-from-behind 36-30 Atlanta home victory. The Buccaneers are 4-3…

Last season, we decided not to post a preseason power rankings and let things shake out after Week 1, which led to an interesting initial list based on who ended up 1-0 and 0-1. We were attempting to avoid any offseason bias influencing our rankings later in the year. This season, we tried something different again. We created a preseason list, then averaged the power rankings of six media outlets we respect. The numbers in parentheses below show how far off our picks are from the “consensus” of the six others. In some cases, there might seem to be bias here, but the truth is we are all in on the Bears (and apparently the Jaguars) and way down on the Jets and Packers compared to other outlets. We’ll see how it plays out.
1. Chiefs (Even – consensus No. 1 on all seven sites): They won it all again and, more impressively, won at Buffalo and at Baltimore in the process. How can you pick against them?
2. Ravens (+2): We believed in Baltimore for most of the latter half of last season, right up until the bitter end. We seem to have more faith than others to start, but we’re happy to let it be decided on the field in tonight’s No. 1 vs. No. 2 opener.
3. Lions (-1): If not now, never? Nah, let’s not be negative and ride with the kneecap-gnawers one more season.
4. 49ers (-1)
5. Bills (+2)
6. Eagles (+3)
7. Dolphins (+4)
8. Cowboys (+2)
9. Bengals (-3)
10. Texans (-2)
11. Bears (+5)
12. Packers (-7)
13. Steelers (+2)
14. Jaguars (+6)
15. Buccaneers (+2)
16. Rams (-3)
17. Browns (-3)
18. Jets (-6)
19. Colts (+2)
20. Chargers (-2)
21. Seahawks (+1)
22. Commanders (+4)
23. Falcons (-4)
24. Titans (Even)
25. Saints (Even)
26. Vikings (-3)
27. Cardinals (Even)
28. Raiders (+1)
29. Broncos (-1)
30. Panthers (+2)
31. Giants (-1)
32. Patriots (-1)

Seahawks Signs Jaren Hall to the Practice Squad

The Seahawks have locked in another quarterback.
On Monday, the Seattle Seahawks announced they signed quarterback Jaren Hall to their practice squad.
The Minnesota Vikings recently released Jaren Hall in favor of former Chicago Bears quarterback Brett Rypein.
Hall was drafted in the fifth round from BYU in the 2023 NFL Draft. The former Viking played 3 games for the Vikings, completing 13 of his 20 pass attempts for 168 yards and one interception. The former BYU standout did start 2 games for the Vikings last year, winning one game last season vs the Atlanta Falcons 31-28.
Seattle still has Sam Howell as their only backup quarterback on their 53-man roster.
Seattle starts their season vs the Broncos on Sunday.

12/29/2022 NFL Updates!
It is Week 17 of the NFL and tonight 12/29/2022 is the Thursday night game. There are 2 weeks until the playoffs and only 8 teams have been eliminated. These teams are the Texans, Bears, Cardinals, Broncos, Colts, Falcons, Rams & Browns. This means there are still plenty of teams in the hunt.
Now moving on to one of the games that I find personally interesting is the game between the 49ers vs the raiders, which is also called “battle of the bay”. Some of the other games are Bills vs Bengals & Packers vs Vikings. Being from the Bay Area and a huge 49ers fan, some big news for this week's game versus the Raiders is that Derek Carr will be benched. Some things that come to my head instantly are, “will the raiders lose their locker?” Meaning “are all of the players going to stop caring or trying?” One of the biggest concerns and questions is, “if the Raiders send Carr away does that mean Davante Adams will stay or leave? If so, where is he going?” This will be a huge offseason for the Raiders which will be even bigger than last offseason. Carr has been on the Raiders team since 2014, he has been the only somewhat stable player for the Raiders and since they are moving away from him you start to wonder what their next move will be. I do predict this game will be a blowout and the 49ers will send the Raiders home with a lot to think about. The 49ers on the other hand, if they win and some of their other games go in their favor they will either stay in 3rd place or move up in the NFC (National Football Conference). This week they were considered the NFL's number One Power Ranking Team, so let's see if they can live up to that hype.
Two games that will be even more interesting are the Bills vs Bengals & Packers vs Vikings. The Bills hold the #1 spot in the AFC (American Football Conference) while the Bengals hold the #3 spot. If the Bills do happen to lose this game it is likely they lose the #1 spot and the Chiefs take it. Whereas, If the Bills do win then there is a good chance that the Bengals lose there #3 spot and move into the Wildcard. This is a similar scenario for the Packers vs Vikings game but if Green Bay loses they no longer have a chance at the playoffs!
My predictions for this week’s games:
(Cowboys vs Titans) Cowboys
(49ers vs Raiders) 49ers
(Cardinals vs Falcons) Falcons
(Bears vs Lions) Lions
(Broncos vs Chiefs) Chiefs
(Dolphins vs Patriots) Dolphins
(Colts vs Giants) Giants
(Saints vs Eagles) Eagles
(Panthers vs Buccaneers) Panthers
(Browns vs Commanders) Browns
(Jaguares vs Texans) Jaguars
(Jets vs Seahawks) Jets
(Vikings vs Packers) Vikings
(Rams vs Chargers Chargers
(Steelers vs Ravens) Steelers

Why Falcons vs. Lions is the Game of the Day.
Today, the undefeated Atlanta Falcons made their first road trip of the young season to Detroit, MI to play the 1-1 Detroit Lions. This game could very well fly under the radar, and I’m here to tell you why this is the game you should pay attention to.
First, let's talk about the visitors. The Atlanta Falcons are trying to usher in a new era of football. Gone are the days of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones torching defenses for 200 yards a game. Now, head coach Arthur Smith is focused on a strong rushing attack. And, at least through the first 2 weeks, they’ve done a damn good job at that. Both running backs Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson have combined to give the Falcons a top 5 rushing attack in the league at this point. 2nd year quarterback Desmond Ridder is still experiencing growing pains, as he threw 1 interception and almost threw another 2. Despite this, he is growing into a leader and giving Atlanta Fans a symbol of hope.
Last week, against Green Bay, the Falcons ended up being down 24-12 at the end of the 3rd quarter. 2 gutsy 4th down play calls from Arthur Smith and 13 points later, the Falcons came back and won the game 25-24 in front of an almost sold out Mercedes Benz Stadium. “When you see the Atlanta Falcons out there, we’ll never be down for the count. We’re gonna fight til that clock hits zero.” This is what Desmond Ridder said after their win on Sunday.
One thing about this Falcons team is that, even though the Falcons are 2-0 for the first time since 2017, there is still a ton of room to grow. Arthur Smith said Monday, “The encouraging thing is that we can get a lot better,” and the crazy thing is that he’s right. The Falcons went into Sunday without cornerback Jeff Okudah, running back Cordarelle Patterson, and outside linebacker Troy Andersen. Not to mention the team’s pass rush has been subpar, especially on Sunday.
Anyways, enough about the Falcons. Let’s talk about three blue ski masks wearing Detroit Lions. After seasons of ineptitude, the Lions actually have playoff aspirations this season. 3rd year head coach Dan Campbell is also trying to usher in a new style of Lions football. “...we're going to kick you in the teeth, all right, and when you punch us back, we're going to smile at you and when you knock us down, we're going to get up. And, on the way up, we're going to bite a kneecap off," said Dan Campbell in his introductory press conference back in 2021. They have done just that. Despite starting 2022 with a 1-6 record, they came storming back, winning 8 of their last 10 and finishing about a half game out of the last wild card spot.
Last Sunday, the Lions welcomed the Seattle Seahawks to Ford Field, the team who ended up with that last wild card spot last year. It was neck and neck all game, until there was 8:14 left in the fourth quarter, where a bad ball by veteran quarterback Jared Goff resulted in the arms of Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown and a pick six, making it a 10 point game. However, they started biting kneecaps. A Josh Reynolds touchdown and a Riley Patterson field foal later, the game was tied and going to overtime. The Seahawks won the overtime coin toss and scored  without the Lions getting a chance to touch the ball
So why should you watch this game instead of watching literally anything else at 1:00 on a Sunday afternoon? Well, this will be a physical fight between 2 teams who feed off the physicality. But also, there really aren't too many good games on in the early window. Of course, you have the Patriots traveling to New Jersey to play the Jets, and everyone wants to know how the Browns will look without Nick Chubb. Apparently, it's not just me who feels this way, as the line from sportsbooks is set at Lions by 3.5 points. The point is, this will be a really close game, and I would not be surprised if we have to see Younghoe Koo or Riley Patterson kick a game-winning field goal late in the game.
Enough talking about the game. Who will win? If the Falcons can get out to a fast start, the defense will do their job holding Detroit and Atlanta will travel to London a perfect 3-0. However, it will all depend on if Bijan Robinson can get the Falcons started off hot. I think this happens and I have the Atlanta Falcons covering the spread and winning outright. Let me know your thoughts on the game in the comment section below. Thanks for reading and have a great rest of your day.

Note
Hi sorry to bother you but you might want to change the name of a background character in princess prom (80s Seahawk clothes guy with glasses "Falcon") because in season 5 there's an eye patched pirate Falcon who is apparently Seahawk's ex who had his ship burned down (Peekablue Episode). ND Stevenson just had to be unfortunate and choose the same name as Seahawk's father from the 80s.
No bother at all, I appreciate the heads up! As I was going through the crew's blogs/twitters/etc. I found a bunch of stuff like that, so I'm going to need to rename a bunch of folks :( e.g. 'Mug Princess' is actually Diana Huh, but also she turns up in season 3 as a dog in the Crimson Waste so like. do I have sub tags? princess diana huh vs dog diana huh? or do I simply append her name to my bullshit nicknames?
however I also have to change 'Cantina' to '(Mr.) Sippy', which rules, so like. there's positives and negatives, is what i'm saying

Final NFL 2022 Season Preview
Tumblr media
My final preview of what we might or might not expect this coming season.
Here’s a brief synopsis & some predictions of what we can expect this season. Keep in mind, it's just an opinion. Nothing more:
-Calling it now, The entire AFC West will not only be the best division in the NFL this year, filled with internet breaking highlights, but I expect every team in this division to make the playoffs…and to get knocked out of the playoffs in the first 2 rounds.
-Aaron Rodgers & the Packers will get humbled this season. I could see the Minnesota Vikings winning the NFC North, but I have a feeling that Rodgers & the Packers will get the last laugh in the playoffs.
-Hey Cowboys fans, unless your defense stays healthy, expect another heartbreaking season. Dak Prescott is losing his touch, Ezekiel Elliott is on the downslope & you lost your star receiver to the Cleveland Browns. Disgusting. Micah Parsons is your only saving grace.
-The Pittsburgh Steelers might finish under .500 this year, but will still do better than the Cleveland Browns and somehow they might make the playoffs, but the AFC North battle will be between Cincinnati and Baltimore.
-Hey New York Jets fans, expect another long season, again, with no playoffs in sight. The good news? Your team will win 2 more games than they did last year.
-If there are any Seahawks fans out there, expect a very depressing season this year. The last of the legion of boom is gone, you lost your future hall of fame quarterback & if the front office isn’t happy, this might be Pete Carroll’s last hurrah.
-Teams that everyone will be scared to play against this year: Tampa Bay Bucs, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams & the entire AFC West. Someone out of this group will go to the Super Bowl this year, excluding the AFC West.
-Sleeper teams that might make some noise & crash the playoffs: Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers & the Baltimore Ravens.
-Teams with nothing to hope for this season: Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears & New Orleans Saints.
-Teams that are all hype but I’m still not convinced of what they can do: Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers & Detroit Lions.
-NFC Conference Championship prediction: Tampa Bay Bucs vs. Green Bay Packers.
Winner? Tampa Bay Bucs.
-AFC Conference Championship prediction: Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals.
Winner? Buffalo Bills.
-Super Bowl 57 prediction: Tampa Bay Bucs vs. Buffalo Bills.
Winner? Buffalo Bills.

That is all.

2020 NFL Wild Card Matchups
NEW YORK, NY. (Fish Sports) - With the final NFL playoff spots set, there are some intriguing matchups as each team has Super Bowl hopes.
Today, we analyze each matchup with key statistics and pick the teams we think will advance to the Divisional Round.
First off, the two #1 Seeds. The AFC’s #1 Seed belongs to the Kansas City Chiefs, who are averaging 29.6 Points Per Game (PPG) which is 6th in the NFL this season. They were 2nd in PPG last year with 29.9. The Chiefs also finished 14-2 for the first time in team history.
In the NFC, the #1 Seed belongs to the Green Bay Packers, who are averaging 31.8 PPG, 1st in the NFL through Week 17, up from 23.6 in 2019, which was 14th in the NFL. Green Bay with a large spike in scoring this year, adding to their chances to compete for the Super Bowl this year. With Green Bay receiving the #1 Seed in the NFC, it will be the first time in QB Aaron Rodgers career that NFC teams have to go through Lambeau Field, fully. Aaron Rodgers, in Week 17 also beat his own franchise record for scoring passes, 48 this year, his previous record being 45 in their Super Bowl-winning year, 2011.
In the first AFC Wild Card Matchup, we have the 7 seed Indianapolis Colts against the 2 seed Buffalo Bills. The Colts have averaged 28.2 PPG, 9th in the NFL. Running back Jonathan Taylor had a franchise-record 253 rushing yards in a game in the Week 17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bills, having averaged 31.3 PPG, 2nd in the NFL this season, along with their Quarterback Josh Allen passing for 37 touchdowns this year, have the upper hand. The Bills having clinched the number 2 seed this year is the highest seed they have received since 1993.
Next, we have the 5 seed Baltimore Ravens taking on the 4 seed Tennessee Titans. The Ravens averaged 29.2 PPG, 7th in the NFL this year. In Week 17, the Ravens set a franchise record of 404 rushing yards in a single game, with their victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Titans have averaged 30.7 PPG, 4th in the NFL this year. A big helping hand to that total has been running back Derrick Henry, who scored 17 touchdowns this year, more than half of Ryan Tannehill’s 33 passing touchdowns. The Titans achieved the AFC South Division Title in 2020 for the first time since 2008, 12 years ago. The Titans however have not had as much luck on the defensive side of the ball this year having allowed the fifth-most yards per game this season.
One of the most classic matchups in NFL history is an AFC North matchup with the 6 seed Cleveland Browns facing the 3 seed Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns having won narrowly in Week 17 facing many of the Steelers backups have a true test in this playoff matchup. Cleveland also is the only team in the 2020 Playoffs with a negative point differential, 408 points for, to 419 points against (-11). The Browns are averaging 25.5 PPG, 14th in the league. The 2020 season, which will mark Cleveland’s first playoff berth since 2002, 18 years ago. Don’t count the Browns out just yet. The best chance for the Browns to come out victorious in this playoff bout is playing ahead, not behind. The first quarter will be key in this matchup. Pittsburgh has won 17 consecutive games against Cleveland, that’s equivalent to a whole NFL season without a bye week. The Steelers are averaging 26.0 PPG, 12th in the NFL. The Steelers are 7-1 at home this season.
Now to the NFC Wild Card Matchups. The first matchup we are going to highlight is the 7 seed Chicago Bears at the 2 seed New Orleans Saints. The Bears are in the playoffs at 8-8 even with their loss to the Packers in Week 17. Chicago is averaging 23.2 PPG, 22nd in the NFL. The Bears this season, only beat one team who had a winning record, that being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5, winning narrowly 20-19. On the other side of the ball is the Saints. New Orleans is averaging 30.1 PPG, 5th in the NFL. A big addition to that high point number is the 26 plus points in 10 straight games with Quarterback Drew Brees at the helm. The Saints should definitely be the favorite to win this lopsided matchup.
Next, we have the 5 seed Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the 4 seed Washington Football Team. Earlier in the season, Tampa Bay looked to be the favorite for 1 seed in the NFC, however, they are still in the playoffs. Tampa is averaging 30.8 PPG, 3rd in the NFL. Tampa Bay had 11 wins this year, the first time since 2005 that the Buccaneers have accomplished that, a big help from Quarterback Tom Brady. Wide Receiver Mike Evans also was injured in the Week 17 matchup versus the Atlanta Falcons. There is a chance Mike Evans is able to play in this matchup. The Washington Football team, having won the NFC East Division Title with a 7-9 record, will host Tampa Bay at FedExField in Landover, Maryland this weekend. Washington wins the NFC East Division Title for the first time since the 2015-16 season when they went 9-7. Washington has averaged 20.9 PPG, 25th in the NFL, the lowest amount when compared to the other 2020 playoff teams. Alex Smith has made an incredible comeback this year after his troublesome injury in 2018 and he gets another shot in the NFL playoffs for the first time since joining Washington. Washington’s best chance to claim victory in this game is for their defensive line to wreak havoc on Tom Brady, especially since it is a night matchup, Brady having slightly struggled in the Prime Time games.
The last matchup we have in the NFC Wild Card Weekend is the 6 seed Los Angeles Rams versus the 3 seed Seattle Seahawks. The Rams are averaging 23.2 PPG, 23rd in the NFL. The Rams defense has been very effective this year, allowing the fewest points and fewest total yards this season. The Rams coming off a Week 17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, with first-time NFL Quarterback John Wolford, clinched a playoff berth. The Rams leader, Quarterback Jared Goff is reported to be a long shot to play in this matchup. The Rams best shot to win versus Seattle is their defense and Jared Goff being able to play, which is not likely due to a thumb injury. Seattle on the other hand has been strong this season. Averaging 28.7 PPG, 8th in the NFL, the Seahawks have continued to win under head coach Pete Carroll, who has been the Seattle Head Coach since 2010 with a 112-63-1 record, .639 Win/Loss percentage, and one Super Bowl win. Quarterback Russell Wilson passed for 40 touchdowns this season, a season-high for him since being drafted in 2012.
Playoff Picks:
AFC
7. Colts vs 2. Bills - BILLS
5. Ravens vs 4. Titans - RAVENS
6. Browns vs 3. Steelers - BROWNS
NFC
7. Bears vs 2. Saints - SAINTS
5. Buccaneers vs 4. Washington Football Team - BUCCANEERS
6. Rams vs 3. Seahawks - RAMS
Enjoy the 2020 NFL Wild Card games this weekend and we’ll see you in the Divisional Round!
